Stephen T. Golding, Senior Consultant, AGB

About

Mr. Golding has over 35 years of experience in higher education financial affairs, investment management, strategic resource planning and government administration. He currently is a Senior Consultant with the Association of Governing Boards (AGB), the Treasurer for the Forum for World Education, and the Managing Partner for The 1782 Group, a higher education consulting firm he founded. Previously, Golding was the Vice President of Administration/CFO at Ohio University. Prior to Ohio, Golding was the Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration at Cornell University. While at Cornell, Golding served as principal advisor to the Governor’s Task Force on Diversifying the New York State Economy and developed strategies to sponsor and commercialize New York State universities’ technology to promote regional based economic development. Prior to joining Cornell, Golding served as the Chief Financial Officer for both the University of Colorado System and the University of Pennsylvania. Before his higher education service, Golding was Secretary of Finance and Budget Director for the State of Delaware.

Professional Credentials

Golding holds an MA in Political Science from the University of Delaware and a BA in History from Washington College, where he currently serves as Chair of their Board of Visitors and Governors.
