AGB, the Urban Institute, and the TIAA Institute are partnering on a research project designed to uncover the myths and truths about college and university endowments. At this session, the lead research will present the initial findings of the research and discuss the distribution of endowment assets across institutions, the association between endowments and financial aid, net prices for and enrollment of low-income students, and potential policies affecting institutions with significant endowments. This session, and the final research to be released this fall, will provide vital information for governing boards, institutional leaders, and senior staff seeking to make decisions about their endowments and respond to questions from parents, students, faculty, policymakers, and others about the whats, whys, and hows of endowments in higher education.
