A Wake-up Call on Risk Management [Infographic]

In 2008 and this past year, AGB and UE jointly surveyed higher education leaders to track the acceptance of, use of, and attitudes toward enterprise risk management (ERM) on college campuses. Read and download the findings from the resulting survey now.

After five years of change and upheaval, why is it that higher education's governing boards continue to consider risk on a largely ad hoc basis? The findings from a recent survey, conducted by AGB and United Educators, indicate a modest increase in the use of risk assessment in high-level decision making over the past five years, but they also show that boards and administrators are not yet substantially committed to this process.

Now, more than ever, governing boards and senior leaders need to be attentive to risks.

Only 39% of survey respondents have conducted an ERMOnly 39% of respondents say they are getting enough informationOnly 25% of survey respondents think their institution is doing a good job identifying risk

If your institution is interested in looking closer at its institutional risk, you may wish to consider AGB Consulting's newest service, a joint project with United Educators: The Board’s Role in Enterprise Risk Management.
