December 2007

Dear Board Professional:

As we serve our boards and institutions, it is essential that we take time to enhance our own knowledge and professional skills. On behalf of the AGB Board Professionals Leadership Group, we invite you to learn and enhance the skills needed to help your board accomplish its goals. Join us in Boston, April 11-13, 2008 for the Workshop for Board Professionals, and you will gain new tools for effective board governance. Or, if your goal is to network with other professionals who have similar challenges and experiences, this is the place for you!

The Board Professionals Program Committee has organized sessions for this year’s conference that will focus on the fundamentals of the profession as well as advanced skills in technology. The conference will feature leaders and guest speakers who will offer a wealth of information and shared experiences. Whether you work in a private or public institution, or a university-related foundation, you will leave Boston with new ideas and fresh perspectives from participating in panel discussion sessions, roundtables, and informal networking groups. Topics will range from board accountability to the role we play in presidential transitions.

On behalf of the members of the AGB Board Professionals Leadership Group, consisting of more than 20 executives from public and independent institutions throughout the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico, we urge you to consider joining our network of dedicated professionals who will warmly welcome you to this innovative conference in April 2008. If you have any questions about the program, please contact us and we will be happy to provide more details. You can also find more information online at www.agb.org, in the section for Board Professionals.

Best wishes,
